I started at a hospital IT desk. Now I build the systems and check them against the law.

Hi, I'm Rose, a full-stack engineer and certified Data Protection Officer in Nairobi. My career began in IT support at Gertrude's Children's Hospital and the United Nations in Nairobi. In 2020 I trained as a software engineer at Moringa School and spent two years building for clients as a freelancer.

Today I help organisations get their systems and their data protection right, from the first line of code to their ODPC registration. I also run Sheria Digital, and build software that makes privacy easier to get right.

What ties it together: I like systems that work, and I think people's data deserves care. The best place to protect it is in the code, before a policy ever has to.
